Saying Hello to Spring with the Murad Hydrating Toner

I love a good mist, but I have to admit that more often than not I’m left feeling like it does not do much for my skin except refresh it. Now there’s nothing wrong with that but if you are looking for a little something extra I may have found the perfect product: the Murad Hydrating Toner.

First off, it smells incredible, kind of like peaches and it’s just so deliciously fruit that it’s really perfect for spring and summer. It’s a really uplifting scent that instantly puts a smile on my face! Now apart from the scent, this toner truly makes your skin more hydrated while also refreshing it. Some of the star ingredients it contains include grape seed extract, cucumber extract as well as peach extract to balance and hydrate the skin.

As the weather gets warmer I tend to reach for lighter textures and I found that this product really helps me keep my skin hydrated without having to use something heavy. I think it would be great to use if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors or are in a very dry environment (air conditioning can just suck the moisture out of your skin). I personally use it over makeup sometimes and it doesn’t disturb it. The spray on it is quite powerful but the mist is fine so it doesn’t drench you face either. Also the size is quite generous compared to other toners and mist, it’s a 180ml so it should last you a while.

The bottle pictured above is of the old packaging, the toner now comes in a pink bottle which I think is much more in keeping with the fruity hydration theme. This was my first Murad purchase and I’m quite intrigued to try more from the brand.

You can find the Murad Hydrating Toner at Sephora as well as from the Murad website and places like Feelunique and Lookfantastic.

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin Review

Well long time no blog, I have been on a little hiatus recently but I am trying to get back into writing so posting should be more frequent. Honestly, I was just not very inspired to write, even though I have discovered so many great products over the past months. To get me started, I thought I should go with a sure thing: the Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin.

The Sparkling Mineral line came out a few months back (around January I think) and this mineral rich toner is supposed to nourish, hydrate and restore the pH of your skin. It is a slightly clouded liquid that is super light and the formula is acid-balanced. This is a super refreshing toner and it is perfect for summer with its slightly citrusy scent. It comes in a gorgeous blue bottle (I love the color) with a simple pour top. Now I prefer products with a pump but the design of this one is pretty much mess-free. The way the cap is designed allows you to easily pour the toner on a cotton pad without spilling it everywhere.

Unlike a lot of toners, this one actually does moisturise the skin and makes it feel supple. It provides a nice light boost of moisture so I think it will be great for summer under a light lotion. It is full of skin loving fruit and plant extracts, which brings me to my favorite thing about it: this makes a wonderful mist. I actually decanted this into a spray bottle when I ran out of mist and this makes such a good one! The Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin is way more hydrating than a simple water spray and I love how this has more benefits than other mists. There is an actual Jeju Sparkling Mineral mist in the line, but the toner has been working so well for me, I plan on using it like that until I am done with my bottle.

To me this is a great basic skincare item, it makes a nice addition to your routine if you are looking for a fuss-free toner that will give you hydration. The Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin is available on the Innisfree website.

Caudalie Weekend Haul

I have a little Caudalie haul for you today. I went to one of my favorite drugstores with my mom over the weekend and had a lovely time shopping. Unlike the other drugstores near me this one has a Caudalie counter and there stocks (in all brands) are really up to date, so it’s always fun to have a browse. Over the past months, I have been mostly using organic and natural products, but I couldn’t resist picking up a few things from Caudalie. I love their branding and packaging, it seemed perfect for spring!

I was actually planning on getting another soap from them but they did not have any left and I think it has been discontinued, hopefully they’ll bring it back in the future. I decided to turn to their shower gels as a replacement, I really enjoyed the Pêche de Vigne shower gel in the past but this time I went for the Thé des Vignes one. It has a richer, warmer scent that is very pleasant. Honestly they all smell incredible and I plan on working my way through them all.

Next is the Lip Conditioner, I couldn’t leave without getting a new one of these. This is one of my all-time favorite lip balms, it makes the top 3 easily. It’s very moisturising and nourishing but the finish isn’t too glossy. My lips just love it and it is quite affordable for such a great product. Also (not that is really matters) it smells amazing, kind of sweet and fruity.

Lastly I got a new Grape Water Spray, I have run out of my other facial mists and this one is super refreshing. Unlike other mists that are just water, the Grape Water actually adds a bit of moisture and does not dry your skin has it evaporates. The mist itself is very fine so you can use it over makeup and it just feels lovely. I really enjoy using it to wake me up if I do a lot of work on the computer.

All the products I have mentioned are available on the Caudalie website and at their counters

Innisfree Canola Honey Jelly Mist

First let me start off by saying I am really sorry for the lack of posts in the past few weeks. The main reason is that I broke my laptop a few months ago and it wasn’t very convenient to use at all. Also I’ll admit I was not very inspired, which seems to have been a common thing amongst bloggers recently. However fear not, I finally got myself a new computer (I’m really happy about it) and I can already feel my motivation coming back. To get me started, I thought I could talk to you about a new favorite of mine: the Innisfree Canola Honey Jelly Mist.

I love face mists all year round, but I particularly enjoy them during the colder months to help ease any dryness and make my face feel more comfortable. This honey one from Innisfree is actually a bit different from your typical flower/water mists, honey extract is the first ingredient on the list and it also has gel in it, making it thicker than normal. It really feels more nourishing and moisturizing than other mists and you can tell the gel helps create a protective barrier on your skin. It feels really lovely when you feel dehydrated. Also honey is just a great overall ingredient for the skin and I love incorporating in my routine.

Personally I prefer to use it on bare skin to absorb all the great ingredients better, but it does not disturb my makeup and adds a bit of a glow if you want to use it throughout the day. Because it is thicker I like to give it a shake before use and you should know the mist is not as fine as the Olive Real Oil Mist. Lastly, it smells amazing! The entire Canola honey range has this great flowery honey scent that is not too sweet. This is the perfect product to carry around to fight the effects of cold weather on your skin.

You can get the Innisfree Canola Honey Jelly Mist on their website here.

What I Bring in My Carry-On Beauty Bag

Hello everyone today I have a little round-up of what I always keep in my carry-on bag beauty-wise when I’m flying somewhere. I try to keep it minimal but effectiveThe recycled air on a plane can really dry your skin out, so it is super important to take care of it whether you’re on a long-haul flight or a short one.

First of all I always have a mini bottle of Bioderma micellar water (reviewed here) to remove my makeup. My skin hates flying, so I cannot wear makeup on a plane or I always get spots, clogged pores and uneven texture. None of that makes for a pleasant landing. I simply pour the a little bit of the water on a cotton pad and gently wipe it around my face. Voilà you have clean skin in seconds.

Next I apply a moisturizer, this time I was using the Innisfree Canola Honey Serum (link) and the Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream. Honestly the products I use usually vary depending on the samples I have on hand, but I love Korean moisturizers because they are super hydrating.

Afterwards, I seal everything in with a nice facial mist. I often use simple rose water, but I also love the Innisfree Olive Real Oil Mist (link) for a more hydrating effect. Also it has a super fine mist so it doesn’t get everywhere and it doesn’t have a strong scent that might offend other passengers. Throughout the flight I will usually keep misting every hour to make sure my face stays moisturized and because I love how refreshing it feels.

Lastly if I’m flying at night or am on a long-haul flight, I will also apply a face mask. My absolute favorite is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, an amazing mask that moisturizes your skin and nourishes it so you can wake up to softer, plumper skin. It also smells divine and the mask goes on clear so you won’t scare off the other passengers. I always try to have samples of this on hand or I will put some in a little travel jar. I also want to start using sheet masks like the Innisfree Green Tea It's Real Squeeze Mask (reviewed here) to further help soothe and nourish my skin during a long-haul flight.

I pack everything in a clear pouch, the one pictured above is an old one from Sephora that I love, and make sure nothing is over 100ml so I don’t have any troubles going through security. I also carry a lip balm and hand cream with me but those are usually in my purse. I hope this will give you some ideas of what to bring with you on your next flight.
