Innisfree Sea Salt Perfect Cleanser

Scrubs and exfoliators are some of my favorite skin treatments because they instantly give you results. My skin actually needs quite frequent exfoliation so I love finding exfoliating cleansers that are efficient, yet gentle enough so I can use them multiple times a week. This is why I was really excited when Innisfree launched their Sea Salt Perfect Cleanser and simply had to get my hands on it.

This cleanser comes in 3 different versions, each with a different concentration of sea salt: 20%, 30% and 40%. I went for the 40% to get the most exfoliation possible. Apart from the mineral salt, the foaming cleanser contains many fruit and plant extracts and, from what I could tell off the ingredients list, it is free of SLS. I am not a fan of foaming cleansers because they can really dry out your face and upset its balance. That being said, this is one of the better ones on the market and I did not find it drying (though it is not moisturizing either). I particularly enjoyed using it at night as a second cleanse or in the morning because the foam is very light and airy. It is hard to explain but once you really lather it up in your hands it doesn’t feel like a foaming cleanser (it’s not as creamy and thick) and it was much easier to rinse off.

So far so good, but the exfoliating part took me by surprise. See, the sea salt particles are actually quite big and while they are not rough on the skin (which is great because they aren’t irritating) they don’t really do much in terms of exfoliating dead skin cells. I assume it must offer some sort of extremely gentle scrubbing effect but I couldn’t really see a difference when using it. I doubt the 20% and the 30% would perform much better either. So on the exfoliating front I can’t say I was impressed.

Over all, I think the Sea Salt Perfect Cleanser is a decent foaming cleanser but it didn’t blow me away. I don’t see myself repurchasing it since I much prefer the Green Barley Cleansing Cream and I would rather try cleansers from their olive or green tea line next.

The Innisfree Sea Salt Perfect Cleanser is available on the Innisfree website.

Innisfree Eco Flower Tint in Camellia, Rose and Balsam

The beauty world is full of lip colors in different textures and finishes, some turn out good, others are better left alone. What makes all this exploring worth it is the feeling you get when you find the PERFECT lip product! I want color, lasting power and a formula that is comfortable to wear all day long. For me this has come in the form of the Innisfree Eco Flower Tint.

This has to be my favorite lip stain formula and all the colors are gorgeous! Camellia is a bright pink that lifts the complexion, Rose a light red/rose color that is still bright without the full-on punch of a traditional red lip and Balsam a slightly peach orange shade that looks very natural and different from a typical nude. The Eco Flower Tint actually comes in five shades and let me tell you the other two will surely make their way to my makeup bag in the future.

Unlike most liquid stains, they are actually kind of creamy which keeps them from making your lips feel as dry as the Sahara. The light cream is super easy to apply and doesn’t go on patchy so you can get a really even color all over your lips. Rose has a more watery consistency than the others but it is not drying either and applies just as well. They last most of the day on me (depending on what I have for lunch and if I wipe my lips a lot) and they fade evenly which is always nice. The tints have a satin finish, luminous but not glossy and they don’t make your lips look smaller like matte lipstick can do. You can easily apply lip balm or a gloss if you want more shine, my favorite for this is the Innisfree Canola Honey Balm.

I honestly don’t know what more you could want from a lip stain (except for even more shades!), I can’t fault it or recommend it enough. Oh and it’s super affordable to boot! Another amazing product from Innisfree, I think I can see a trend here ;)

Innisfree Color Glow Lipstick in Romantic Autumn Rose

I have been in a bit of a makeup rut lately, I don’t know why but I feel like I wear the same things every day and none of my lip products seem appealing. So to mix things up, I have ditched my usual bright berry/red lip in favor of something more peachy and summery. My savior in this situation has been the Innisfree Color Glow Lipstick in Romantic Autumn Rose.

Now I tried an Innisfree lipstick years ago and was not super impressed because it was very waxy and dry. But they have since reformulated and come out with great new lipsticks that seriously deliver. So if you were put off in the past definitely give the new ones a go.

The Color Glow lipsticks are wonderfully creamy and moisturizing, while packing a punch in the color department. They are super pigmented in one swipe. I also like that they look luminous, but don’t have a glossy finish. They feel like a true lipstick texture-wise and I love how the satin-creamy finish makes your lips look fuller.

Romantic Autumn Rose is a gorgeous peachy pink color that brightens your face, but still manages to look natural. It’s a great everyday color. From looking at different swatches online, I was afraid it might be too pink or orange, so I was really pleased that it turned out to be quite well balanced and unique. I don’t own anything like it and it is one of the rare pinks I feel looks good with my skin tone. The quality of these is great and I can see myself buying more shades in the future (hello gorgeous cherry red one).

Tanya Burr Lip Glosses: Aurora and Berry Picking

Hello everyone today I bring you a review on one of my favorite affordable lip glosses. I just love finding a high quality product at a great price which is exactly what the Tanya Burr Lip Glosses are. I currently own two: Aurora and Berry Picking, but you can be sure my collection will increase in the future.

These lip glosses come in a nice looking tube, nothing fancy but it looks classic and not cheap at all. The two shades I own have a lovely creamy formula that glides on the lips offering moisture and lots of shine. The pigmentation level is great, they are not opaque but the color still packs a punch. You can also build up the intensity by layering it and worry not, it never feels sticky. The texture is actually very smooth on the lips, which is quite pleasant. They wear for a few hours easily and the shine and color fade evenly so you don’t end up with patchy looking lips. Another thing I love is their sweet fruity scent, it is delicious!

As for the actual colors, Aurora is a cute medium pink color, on me it looks a bit brighter and darker than in the tube. Honestly it does not suit my complexion the best but the formula is so great I like wearing it anyway. Berry Picking is my favorite of the two, it’s a real berry color with gold shimmer that’s a bit sheerer than Aurora, but it adds gorgeous dimension to your lips. It’s not too dark or too red so you can easily wear on its own during the daytime and it is also lovely over a stain. I was just blown away by these glosses, the quality is truly incredible for the price.

There are quite a few colors I plan on picking up next (I’m looking at you I Found Nemo). You can get the Tanya Burr Lip Glosses in select Superdrug and they are also available on their website and on Feelunique (ships internationally).
