Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel

Eye creams are starting to have a moment, I mean a few years ago they were mostly targeted for more mature skin and were incredibly rich. I am still in my early twenties and very thick rich creams usually give me milia (tiny bumps) under my eyes and they take forever to go away. Finding a light cream that makes a difference can be difficult, but thankfully Laneige has come to the rescue with their Water Bank Eye Gel.

This light-weight eye gel hydrates your under eye area without feeling sticky and has lasting effects all day. The gel is cooling to the touch so it refreshes the skin and can help with puffiness. It also has soothing properties making it great for dry and irritated skin (you might want to test it out first if you have severe irritation because it contains fragrance).

I love this eye gel, every time I use it I am left with fresh looking eyes. The gel gives me just enough hydration and it does help reduce minimal puffiness. Unlike other creams I have tried, this does not cause any milia, but it is potent enough to make a visible difference. Also, I noticed this seems to help lighten dark circles, granted mine are not very bad, but when I use it constantly my under eye area looks brighter. If you are looking for something to help minimize wrinkles than I’m not sure this will give you the results you are looking for, but if you are still young or simply looking for a basic eye care product I highly recommend this one.

The Water Bank Eye Gel comes in a huge glass jar that will last you a very long time because you only need to use a little. I love the packaging, it looks gorgeous and very chic, also what can I say, blue is my favorite color and this shade is just lovely. It also comes with a cute little spatula so you don’t have to worry about putting your fingers in the jar, it is all very hygienic.

I bought my Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel from Amore Pacific (the parent company) on Ebay, but you can also get it from Sasa. It might also be available in your local Amore Pacific/Laneige store or any Asian beauty store or website.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

I have mentioned my dry hands in yesterday’s post and wanted to share with you all another product I’ve been using to repair my skin. Every few nights, right before I go to bed, I apply a nice layer of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream to speed up the healing process.

This cult product has been around for a long time; the thick orange ointment can be used on any dry areas (including your lips) and coats them with a hydrating and soothing layer. This really is more of an ointment than a cream so you need to really massage it in if you want it to penetrate nicely. It also feels quite sticky which is why I recommend applying it as the last step in your routine before you go to bed. That way you won’t leave greasy prints on anything. After use, I woke up to my softer feeling hands and the cracks had started to heal.

There’s a reason the Eight Hour Cream has such a following, it does what it claims and its multipurpose usage makes it convenient to have around. I don’t love the scent, it has an odd medicinal fragrance, but Elizabeth Arden offers an unscented version if you prefer fragrance-free products.

You can get the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream from their website as well as at any of their counters.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Shea Butter Mask

Spring is on its way but if you live in a northern country like Canada the cold is still very much present and taking its toll on your skin. All the wind, snow and cold has really been drying my skin out and to fight back I’ve been using the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Shea Butter Mask.

As always, Innisfree knows how to bring it in the sheet mask department. The cotton for the mask is soft and sturdy meaning it won’t rip or drag on your skin. As for the essence it contains, this one has soft cream consistency that is very different from the typical water-like essence. The Black Berry one from the same line was like a lotion but this one is definitely thicker and thus more moisturizing.

After use, my skin felt softer and more hydrated. It really helped relieve the tightness I was feeling on my face. I think it would make a great mask to use on a long-haul flight or after a day spent outside in the cold.

You can find the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Shea Butter Mask on the Innisfree website.

Soap and Glory Flake Away

Soap and Glory is one of my favorite brands when it comes to body products, everything they make smells great and all their names are super clever. Today I present to you Flake Away, a body scrub that contains sugar, peach seed powder and shea butter to leave your skin soft and hydrated.

I bought the travel size version and I loved it. The scrub really buffs away dead skin cells, but it is doesn’t feel harsh or abrasive on your skin. The sugar actually has a moisturizing effect as it melts on your skin with the friction and combined with the shea butter it contains, your skin is left baby soft. I really enjoy how efficient it was without leaving any oil or greasy residue on my skin. As for the scent, it has the typical Soap and Glory scent which reminds me of a peachier version of Dior’s Miss Dior Chérie.

This is a lovely product that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good scrub. Also I think it’s great Soap and Glory offers so many travel size versions of their products has they're a great way of trialing products without committing to a full size bottle.

You can get Flake Away from Boots or online for £8.00 (£2.50 for the travel size) in the U.K. and Shoppers Drug Mart carries some Soap and Glory products in Canada.
